patchly.

How Patchly works

Anything with a surface can carry a sponsor — a race bike, a coffee cart, a whole team's jerseys. Owners sell the spots; brands call dibs on them; nobody pays or gets paid until both sides are protected.

The short version

One loop, four beats

📸

Mark your spots

Upload one photo and click to place priced sponsor spots on it — a hero placement, a few smaller ones.

🏷️

Brands call dibs

A sponsor picks a spot, uploads their logo, and saves a card. Nothing is charged yet.

✅

Owner approves

Every logo needs an explicit yes from the owner. A no costs the sponsor nothing and reopens the spot.

💸

Money moves

Cards are charged and funds flow — with escrow or campaign rules protecting both sides (details below).

The honest part

Patchly doesn't find your sponsors. It helps you close them.

Think Shopify, not Etsy: you bring the link to the businesses and people you can already reach — the pizzeria by the field, your employer, club families, your followers — and Patchly makes their “yes” easy: clear packages, real prices, instant checkout, and money that's protected until you deliver. The campaigns that fund are the ones whose owners can name twenty businesses to send the page to. If that's you, this works.

For owners

Turn your thing into sponsorship revenue

1

List it in about two minutes

One clear photo, a short story about where it will be seen, and the spot editor: click the photo to place spots, drag them into position, and price each one ($25 minimum per spot). Listing a team's kit? One jersey photo stands in for the whole set — label spots like “chest banner, all 12 jerseys.” No account required; you get a public link to share and a private dashboard link.
2

Pick your money model

✋ I already have it

For gear that exists. Sponsors are charged the moment you approve their logo. The money then sits in escrow: apply the logo, upload a proof photo, and the funds release to you after the sponsor confirms (or 72 hours pass).

⏳ I'm raising to get it

Kickstarter-style, for when the sponsor money buys the thing — new jerseys, the bike itself. Set a deadline and a minimum. Cards are saved as you approve logos; when pledges reach your minimum, everyone is charged at once and the funds land with you immediately. Fall short and nobody pays.

3

Approve every logo

Requests arrive by email and on your dashboard with the brand's logo and a message. Approve the good ones, reject the rest — a rejection reopens the spot and costs the sponsor nothing. You are never obligated to carry a logo you don't want.
4

Sell roles in the story, not logo rectangles

A small logo alone is worth little — a role in your story is worth a lot. The spots that sell pair the placement with the narrative: “chest banner on all 12 jerseys, in every game photo and the county-tournament team picture.” Say where it will be seen, by whom, and what photos the sponsor gets back. Local sponsors are buying community affiliation and content they can reuse — give them both.
5

Get paid through Stripe

A one-time ~5-minute Stripe setup (identity + bank account) unlocks payouts. Patchly keeps 5% when funds release; the rest pays out to your bank on Stripe's normal schedule. Your commitment in return: apply approved logos faithfully and keep them on for at least 12 months.

For brands

Buy real-world placements, protected

1

Find a spot your customers will actually see

Browse by category — team kits seen by every parent in the stands, carts parked in weekend foot traffic, race gear headed for a start line. Every listing shows exactly where your logo sits and what it costs. No accounts, no sales calls.
2

Call dibs — your card is saved, not charged

Upload your logo, add a note to the owner, and save a card. The spot goes on hold for you. For existing items you're charged only when the owner approves; for campaigns, only if the campaign hits its minimum by the deadline. Rejected or unfunded = $0.
3

Proof before the money moves

On existing items your payment sits in escrow until the owner uploads a photo of your logo on the real thing — you get 72 hours to review it before funds release, and flagging a problem freezes the payout. On campaigns, funds release at close so the owner can buy the item; they then share photos as it happens.
4

A year of visibility, minimum

Owners commit to keeping your logo on for at least 12 months of normal use. You'll have the proof photo, the listing page, and a real-world placement that costs less than a week of paid social.

Trust & safety

Built so strangers can do business

Owner approval, always

No logo appears on anything without the owner's explicit yes — and owners set every price themselves.

Escrow with proof

On existing items, money only moves after photographic proof and a sponsor review window.

Real refunds

Disputed proof pauses payouts; unfixable problems get refunded in full and the spot reopens.

Moderation

Content rules cover both listings and logos; anything can be reported in one click and removed by our team.

FAQ

Everything else

▸Is this just GoFundMe with logos?
No — and the difference matters to your sponsors. A GoFundMe contributor is donating to a cause. A Patchly sponsor is buying something defined: a placement, photos, visibility in a specific community, and proof it happened. That's why a local business can pay for it from a marketing budget instead of a charity budget — and why they come back next season.
▸Will Patchly find sponsors for me?
Not today, and we won't pretend otherwise. Patchly makes you easy to say yes to — the selling starts with the businesses and people you can already reach. Our best advice before you publish: write down twenty businesses you'll send your link to. Campaigns with that list get funded; pages waiting to be discovered don't.
▸When is a sponsor's card actually charged?
Never at "call dibs" — the card is only saved. For "I already have it" items, the charge happens the moment the owner approves the logo. For campaigns, everyone approved is charged at once when the campaign closes at or above its minimum. If an owner rejects you, or a campaign falls short, you pay nothing — ever.
▸What does Patchly cost?
Listing is free. Patchly keeps 5% of each sponsorship, deducted when money is released to the owner. A $500 spot pays the owner $475. Sponsors pay exactly the spot price — no buyer fees.
▸What if a campaign doesn't reach its minimum?
It closes, nobody is charged, and every sponsor is emailed that their hold is released. Owners can relist anytime with different prices, a lower minimum, or a longer deadline.
▸How do I know the owner will actually apply my logo?
For "I already have it" items, money sits in escrow until the owner uploads a proof photo and you approve it (or 72 hours pass). For campaigns, funds release at close so the owner can buy the item — like Kickstarter, you're backing them to deliver, and owners who don't follow through face refunds, removal, and card disputes they will lose (we keep the evidence).
▸How long does my logo stay on the item?
At least 12 months from application, in the item's normal use. It's a core owner commitment in our Terms.
▸Can owners say no to a sponsor?
Always. Nothing is charged and no logo is placed until the owner explicitly approves it. Rejected requests reopen the spot instantly.
▸How do owners get paid out?
Through Stripe. Owners complete a ~5-minute Stripe onboarding (identity + bank details); released funds land in their Stripe balance and pay out to their bank on Stripe's normal schedule. Patchly never touches your bank credentials.
▸One listing for a whole team's jerseys?
Yes — that's the classic Patchly listing. Upload one jersey photo, mark the spots, and label them "all 12 jerseys." The sponsor pays once and their logo goes on every kit.
▸What logo files work?
PNG, JPG, or WebP, up to 8MB. Owners have final approval over how it looks on their item.
▸What can't be listed or sponsored?
No illegal content, hate, adult content, trademark infringement, or deceptive offers — the full rules live in our Terms. Anything can be reported from its listing page, and our moderators can remove listings.

Listing takes about two minutes. Calling dibs takes one.
